    About the Craft

Every Ishatvam piece is thoughtfully designed and finished by skilled makers. Because many of our products are handcrafted, slight variations in color, texture, hammer marks, wood grain, natural stone veining and measurements are to be expected and celebrated—not considered defects.

Dimensions are measured by hand and may vary slightly.

Colours can look different across screens and natural lighting.

Serveware items will be marked food-safe where applicable; purely decorative pieces are intended for dry use only.

    Care & Maintenance

A few simple habits will keep your pieces looking their best. Use a soft, dry cloth first; add mild soap only when needed; always dry completely.

Metals (brass/peetal, copper, aluminium, iron): Wipe dry after use. Avoid abrasives and harsh chemicals. For brass/copper, occasional polish (e.g., a gentle metal polish) restores shine; rinse and dry immediately. Keep away from prolonged moisture.

Wood & MDF: Dust regularly. Spot clean with a slightly damp cloth; never soak. Keep away from direct heat/sunlight. Condition natural wood occasionally with food-safe mineral oil.

Ceramic/Stone/Marble: Hand-wash gently; avoid sudden temperature changes. Use felt pads/coasters to protect surfaces.

Glass: Clean with a lint-free cloth and mild soap; avoid abrasive scrubbers.

Textiles (cushion covers, runners): Gentle hand-wash or machine wash on delicate, inside-out, cold water. Do not bleach. Line dry in shade; warm iron if needed.

Candles/Incense holders: Allow to cool before handling; trim wicks; protect surfaces from heat and wax.
